Ovidio Mugnaini has won the 2024 edition of the “Gambelli Prize,”.
The award to the winemaker “under 40” whose work best embodies the idea of wine carried out by Giulio Gambelli, the Tuscan master of Sangiovese, promoted by Aset Toscana,
“Gambelli Prize” is awarded, each year, to the professional reputed to be the best in enhancing the typicality of each grape variety, the characteristics of the terroir and the vintage year. “I dedicate the victory to my grandfather who, for me, was a master of the winery and the vineyard,” said Ovidio Mugnaini, “it is something extraordinary to be approached with the name of Gambelli, someone who gave so much to wine and enology.
As indeed I thank the winery I work for with all its interpreters: the work of this group has allowed me to crown a small dream, because for me wine, as for my grandfather and Giulio Gambelli, is first of all passion and this recognition can only fuel it again, spurring me to try to work better and better.”
